Accessibility of company services and websites
Accessibility aims to improve the quality of life of persons with a disability, enabling them to integrate into society and live a life of dignity, equality and independence.
Israel legislated the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Law in 1998. Regulations regarding accessibility of buildings (new and existing) were passed between 2005 and 2011, and regulations for access to service were approved in 2013.
BIG Shopping Centers attributes vital importance to accessibility, and in line with its explicit social outlook as a company set a lofty goal - to reflect and promote accessibility in all its activity areas.
BIG champions equal service to all customers and improved service to customers regardless of their disability. To this end the Group invests significant efforts and resources in accessibility in order to ensure available and accessible service to all customers at all centers and any point of contact with the Group.
Information regarding accessibility arrangements at BIG Shopping Centers
BIG Shopping Centers Ltd. invests extensive resources and efforts in making its website accessible for persons with a disability. Several adjustments were integrated into the BIG website in line with disability profiles, among them:
vision impairment, comprehension difficulties (speed and need for additional information), blindness (reading devices), color blindness, keyboard users and epilepsy.
Elements integrated into the website compliant with AA accessibility level
A mechanism for changing pictures on the homepage, giving users full control for browsing pages and pictures.
Full control of the keyboard and using the Tab to move between pages.
textual substitute (alt) for graphic objects.
. The ability to change text size on the website, with three text-size options, using the button located on the website title.
The ability to change the display by using the CTRL key and the mouse scroll wheel.
Contents and links on all website pages are written in simple and clear language for easy use and orientation.
Text design and color contrast on the website complies with Israeli Accessibility Standard 5568 that specifies guidelines for accessibility of Web 2.0 websites.

Accessibility of BIG Shopping Centers Group Headquarter Offices
– an accessible counter enables persons using a wheelchair to gain easy access to a service and receive it conveniently and independently.
: an accessible counter has an accessible chair with hand grips for conveniently sitting and getting up from the chair for persons with a mobility disability. An accessible waiting area is also available with an accessible chair, and room for persons assisted by a service dog or using a wheelchair.
– when receiving face-to-face service at BIG offices, customers with a hearing impairment are invited to use an induction loop (a device that screens and neutralizes background noises and only broadcasts the employee’s voice at a reception frequency for hearing instruments. Thus the induction loop enables users to hear only what the person opposite them is saying, without any unnecessary background noises). The induction loop is connected to the electricity network for independent customer use.
Accessible parking spaces
– many parking spaces are available at 1 Sapir Street in Herzliya Pituach, next to the Ampa and Isfar buildings. BIG Group headquarters are located in the Ampa building and its parking garage offers accessible parking spaces for private and commercial vehicles, as well as payment arrangements for persons with a disability.
Accessibility of BIG Centers and BIG FASHION Malls
BIG shopping centers are built on one level enabling convenient and direct passage between sidewalks and /or mall floors to store entrances.
All public furniture in all Center areas is accessible and available to all persons with a disability
Parking at all BIG centers is free and thus convenient for all Center visitors, including persons with a disability.
All centers offer accessible parking spaces for persons with a disability adapted for both private and commercial vehicles. Ramps are located next to the parking spaces for continuous and standard-compliant passage between accessible parking and commercial areas. All accessible parking spaces are marked with the accessibility symbol in compliance with the standard, for immediate identification of the allocated accessible area.
All centers have signage with clear and easy directions to accessible parking spaces, emergency exits, protected areas, public bathrooms and all Center exits and entrances.
An induction loop is installed in every BIG center management office for persons with a hearing impairment.
Regular accessibility bathrooms and A2-type accessibility bathrooms are installed at BIG centers in compliance with Regulation 8.141, Section H-1.
All elevators and escalators installed at BIG centers have a single direction strip as well as warning studs on the floor (according to Regulation 8.78 [C] Section H-1.
All elevators installed at BIG centers have a voice indicator for orientation regarding the Center’s floors and levels.
All stairways have handrails as well as floor warning studs at the top and the bottom of the stairs.
All ATMs installed in the commercial centers are accessible with identification signs and include a voice-operated system according to Regulation 25 of the Service Accessibility Regulations.
Training is conducted for BIG employees to increase their awareness of accessible service for persons with a disability, according to Regulation 88 of the Service Accessibility Regulations
